Poroshenko called for the re-election of the President of Belarus
The ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko urged the country's authorities, together with partners in "at Lublin triangle" (Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland) to appoint a special representative for Belarus, which will facilitate the settlement of the situation in the country.
"I urge the Ukrainian authorities in cooperation with our partners "at Lublin triangle" to appoint a special representative for Belarus, which should actively promote the settlement of the situation and confirm the strategic role of our country in the region," the statement said Poroshenko, published in the Telegram-channel ex-President on Wednesday.
He also urged the Belarusian authorities to stop the violence, release prisoners and announce an early presidential election in the country.
"The Belarusian authorities must find a response to the demands of Belarusian society, which is committed and ready for democratic changes in the country... Believe that the Belarusian authorities should immediately end the violence against its citizens, at the same time, to avoid provocations.
