In Portland arrested nine rioters

Police detained nine participants of the protests and unrest that occurred earlier in the U.S. city of Portland, said in a statement law enforcement officers.

Earlier, local law enforcement agencies reported that protesters in Portland late on Saturday evening local time, set the fire police Association of the city and used a blinding laser against police officers, three police officers were injured. To 02.00 local time (12.00 GMT) most of the protesters dispersed.

"The police made 9 arrests during the riots, which took place from Saturday night to Sunday morning. All they (the detainees – ed.) was placed in a detention center Multnomah County," reads a statement from the Portland police.

Police published the list of names of detainees and the list of charges. Among these are preventing the actions of a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, participation in a riot, assaulting a police officer, violation of public order and "illegal direction of the laser pointer" on law enforcement officers.

In Portland and other U.S. cities held protests, which began after the death in Minneapolis of the African-American George Floyd at the hands of police. The protests have often degenerated into riots.

Federal law enforcement agencies for weeks defended the crowd from the courthouse in Portland, which the protesters were going to burn. However, local authorities from among the Democrats, opposed to President Donald Trump, sharply criticized Federal forces and said that they aggravate the situation by his presence. Last week the state of Oregon and city of Portland reached an agreement with Federal authorities, according to which security in the city centre took on local police and Federal forces began to leave the city.
