In the United States has threatened a German port because of the "Nord stream — 2"

Us senators demanded from the German port of Sassnitz to discontinue support for the construction of "Nord stream — 2", the newspaper Handelsblatt.

Members of the Senate led by Ted Cruz said that in case of failure of the port management will prevent future financial survival of the company.

The port authority did not comment on the position of the senators.

However, the reaction was followed by the official representative of the energy of the "Alternative for Germany" Steffen Cotterêts.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, he said the US "economic war against the sovereign energy policy, in particular gas policy in Germany and Europe".

He called Berlin "immediately and directly" to respond to threats of American politicians. In particular, he proposed to impose sanctions and deny entry to the EU. According to him, the only way the EU will be able to show the unity and efficiency.

Earlier, the German magazine Focus wrote that to work on the "Nord stream — 2" has attracted new ships. We are talking about the ship "Rossini", which for several weeks is the German port of Sassnitz.

On Board the ship is about 140 workers, and their daily delivery to the port of Mukran and logistics base construction. According to local newspaper Ostsee-Zeitung, the workers have citizenship of UK, Russia, Ukraine and Italy.

The newspaper writes that all they have to operate covertly because of the threat of sanctions.

"Nord stream — 2" will consist of two threads off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany. Against it actively support the USA and Ukraine and several countries of Europe.

At the end of last year, Washington imposed sanctions against the project, demanding that the companies doing the strip, to immediately stop the construction. Swiss Allseas almost immediately announced the suspension of work.
