American politician was killed in a collision of two aircrafts over Alaska

Two small planes collided near the airport, Soldotna, Alaska, died, the house of representatives of the state of Harry Knopp, the newspaper Anchorage Daily News.

The Federal aviation administration said the aircraft Havilland DHC-2 Beaver and a Piper Aztec collided about three kilometres from the airport at 08.30 local time (19.00 GMT). The exact number of passengers and survivors is not reported.

Colleagues of a local politician Republican Harry Knopp reported that he died in the collision of aircraft. The politician's wife confirmed that Knopp on Friday he flew his plane.

The national Council for transport safety and Federal aviation administration started the investigation.
