Ukraine plans to extradite detained in Belarus Russians
Kiev will require the issuance of 28 detained by Belarusian authorities of the people to attract them to criminal responsibility alleged "for actions during the armed conflict in Donbass", have informed in a press-service of office of public Prosecutor of Ukraine.
It is noted that nine of them have Ukrainian citizenship.
"The attorney General's office under the Convention on legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal matters of 1993 appealed to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus with the requests for provisional arrest of persons who on July 29, was detained by law enforcement agencies of this state", - stated in the message.
In addition, the Ukrainian Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov said that law enforcement authorities will give the Belarusian colleagues, allegedly confirming the violation of the detained near Minsk citizens committed in the territory of the Ukrainian state.
Avakov claims that the actions of the detainees indicate that they were involved in the RAID.
According to him, the national police of Ukraine is investigating a number of criminal cases on the crimes, including detainees on the territory of Belarus "mercenaries".
The Minister also stressed that he held a number of consultations on cooperation with the official representatives of Belarus.
"Instability and provoked tensions in Belarus is regarded by us as a situation that threatens the Ukraine, including," - said Avakov.
Earlier, Belarus gave Ukraine a list of the detained Russians. The head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba noted that in Ukraine there is no possibility to have a second citizenship, so anyone who has a Ukrainian passport, are considered Ukrainian citizens.
On Wednesday it became known about detention of the 33 Russians near Minsk and South of the country. Belarusian authorities called them "foreign fighters of the private military company "Wagner". Against the Russians opened a criminal case on charges of preparing terrorist attacks, they face up to 20 years in prison. Later in Minsk reported that the suspect detained in the preparation of mass disorders in the Republic.
Russian Ambassador Dmitry Mezentsev noted that the detainees crossed the border of Belarus official: the Russians presented the staff of border service of documents, which give grounds to conduct working activities in the territory of the Republic.
According to the press-Secretary of President Dmitry Peskov, Moscow does not yet have information about any illegal actions of his compatriots. As noted by the representative of the Kremlin, the defendants — employees of a private security company who were in the Republic in transit and missed the flight. President Vladimir Putin and the permanent members of the security Council on the last Friday expressed the hope that in the near future in this story will clarify and arbitrarily detained Russian nationals released.
In the foreign Ministry, in turn, stressed that the accusations in an attempt to "interference" in the Affairs of Belarus from the outside, puzzling, and notorious interpretation of the Minsk detention of Russians do not stand up to scrutiny.
