The construction of "Nord stream — 2" is allowed to continue

Construction of the pipeline "Nord stream 2" can be resumed on 3 August at the expiry of the appeal the new permit of Denmark, even if this decision will be appealed, told reporters in the Danish energy Agency (DEA).

"It is possible to appeal to the Danish appeals Board on energy issues, will have immediate suspensive effect, unless the Council decides otherwise," said the regulator.

Previously, the DEA announced that it has amended the permit to Nord Stream AG 2 for the construction of "Nord stream 2" in the Danish waters. In particular, companies are now allowed to use during the project implementation not only ships with dynamic positioning, but with the anchor. As explained by the Agency, subject to the completion of the pipeline route passes outside the area at risk of contact with buried at the bottom of the Baltic sea by chemical weapons. However, the construction of "Nord stream 2" may not be resumed until 3 August, when the deadline for appeal updated permission Denmark.

The project "Northern stream 2" involves construction of a pipeline capacity of 55 billion cubic meters per year from the coast of the Russian Federation through the Baltic sea to Germany. It implements 2 Nord Stream AG with the sole shareholder - "Gazprom". European partners - Royal Dutch Shell, OMV, Engie, Uniper and Wintershall in total the project is financed by 50% that is worth up to EUR 950 million each.

Against the project actively advocate USA, in the EU promoting its liquefied natural gas, and Ukraine, fearing to lose the transit. States in December imposed sanctions against the "Nord stream 2", demanding that the companies immediately stop the construction of a gas pipeline. Swiss Allseas almost immediately announced the suspension of such works. Russia has repeatedly pointed out that the project is a commercial and profitable Europe.
