Russia is open to discussions on arms control, said the foreign Ministry
Russia is open to multilateral discussions on measures to ensure predictability and restraint in missile and nuclear field, said the Deputy of the official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Zaitsev.
"With regard to a possible multilateral discussions on measures to ensure predictability and restraint in missile and nuclear field, our position on this issue is well known, repeatedly voiced, brought to Americans. Russia is open to such discussion, on the understanding that it would be counterproductive to force anyone to participate in it", - he told at a briefing on Thursday.
According to him, the debate can be conducted only on the basis of consensus and taking account of the legitimate interests and approaches of all parties.
In Vienna, July 27-30, consultations were held inter-Ministerial delegations of Russia and the USA, where the sides discussed topical issues in the field of international security and arms control.
