Altai has become the main destination for active tourism in Russia
Tours to Altai this summer have booked four times more often than in the same period last year, according to data Biletix.
The average check for the tickets to Altai decreased by 43 percent — from 19 thousand to 11 thousand rubles.
In other areas for active tourism, including Kamchatka, Baikal, the Kola Peninsula and the Caucasus, tourist traffic has declined. The volume of reservations of tickets to Mineral waters fell by 45%, in Murmansk — 43%, in Irkutsk — 42 percent, in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky — 15 percent.
Thus, the share of Altai among these areas compared to last year has increased from nine to 37 percent. Despite the fact that the total amount of the bookings at the "adventure" areas decreased by 18 percent.
The experts also noted that the volume of the bookings in Sochi has doubled compared to last year, and in the Crimea by 16 percent.
