The expert described the detention of Russian citizens in Belarus, a "show"

Detention of Russians in Belarus is a "staged performance" of the authorities of the country for the Belarusian voters before the presidential election on 9 August and Western countries, says Russian expert, member of the Council for interethnic relations under the RF President Bogdan Bezpalko.

The Belarusian state Agency BelTA reported Wednesday, citing an unnamed source in law enforcement bodies that, under the Minsk allegedly detained "32 militants, foreign private company Wagner", another was arrested in the South of the country. All of them, as claimed by the Agency, the Russians. Thus, according to the report, earlier information was received of the arrival in Belarus ", more than 200 militants to destabilize the situation during the election campaign." Embassy of the Russian Federation officially received from the foreign Ministry of Belarus a notice about the arrest of 32 Russians.

"As for what happened, of course, is the election of revels, is staging the play. It is designed, first, for the domestic audience, to intimidate Belarusians: look, to be the Maidan. Moreover, this "independence" is almost explicitly States, is organized by Russia. And designed for a Western audience – see what we really are free and independent, we can slap Russia, despite the fact that we're dependent on her and includes the integration Union," said Bezpalko RIA Novosti.

"I regard it all as a slap to Russia, to our political, military leadership, to the whole nation, which, by the way, are of critical importance for Belarus and the regime of Alexander Lukashenko", - he said.

According to the expert, nothing to destabilize the situation in Belarus detainees are not, they probably moved through the country in transit.

"People who were detained, were a group that were dressed in the clothes in military style. At least it's not prudent for those travelling to, first of all, to organize some kind of coup or chaos and thus to act in secret. It is absolutely irrational and unreasonable", - he stressed.

As noted Bezpalko, it is definitely unfriendly step against Russia, which Moscow is unlikely to leave without attention. Thus, according to the expert, the Lukashenka understands the possible negative consequences for the country.

"Lukashenko is going broke because it is mainly his unlimited power, he is ready to go at all, and the aggravation of relations with Russia and to commit any crime. Important for him to remain in power, in this sense, he is cornered, his real rating is low. Assuming a free and fair democratic elections at least to some extent, in Belarus, he loses, so he goes to any measures, including the aggravation of relations with our country, from which he critically depends on", - says the analyst.

Bespalko added that Lukashenko expects Russia will not take any action for fear of loss of image and decay of the number of integration unions.

Lukashenko on Wednesday held an emergency meeting with members of the security Council, he reported on the situation in connection with the detention of "more than three dozen representatives of foreign private military company". During the meeting, the Chairman of the KGB of the Republic Valery Vakulchik said that the detained in Minsk Russians were in the private military company Wagner. The Secretary of security Council of Belarus Andrei Ravkov said that the foreign Ministry will invite the ambassadors of Russia and Ukraine to give explanations on this case, since at least 14 of the detained Russians "were recorded" in the Donbass.

Lukashenko a few days ago, speaking to the commandos, said that street protests can "pull" a specially-trained foreigners. According to him, "these are professional soldiers, bandits, which are specially prepared, mainly in the framework of PMCs around the world, and make a lot of money on provocations in those or other States".
