Railways has canceled the events on the Day of the railwayman

Russian Railways has canceled a planned mass events at railroad Day on the background COVID-19 and will hold an online race, told reporters in the company.

The railwaymen of Russia is traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday of August. In 2016, RZD celebrate Day of the railwayman in the format of a charity run, the proceeds of which are transferred to seriously ill patients, wards of charitable funds. In a press-service of Russian Railways, RIA Novosti reported that the event will be held with observance of all necessary security measures because of the situation with coronavirus.

"In connection with continuing restrictions on holding mass events in some regions, as well as guided by concern for the health of the employees, the company made the decision to cancel this year's events, timed to the Day of the railway, including the charity race "Reaching the goal", - said the Ministry of Railways on Thursday.

It noted that all data collected to date will be donated to the charity Fund "life Line" and other charitable organizations to partner events in different cities.
