Russian permanent representative in Vienna called the U.S. withdrawal a win for Germany
Germany could politically benefit from the U.S. decision to withdraw from the country part of their troops, said Russia's permanent representative to the international organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov.
The diplomat added that the withdrawal of American military forces from Germany can only affect the economic situation in the areas around American bases.
Pentagon chief mark Esper announced the withdrawal of Germany from almost 12 thousand U.S. troops, most of which (6.4 thousand) will go home, and the rest will be deployed in NATO countries in Europe, including in Italy and Belgium.
To reduce the number of American soldiers in Germany had previously promised President of the United States Donald trump. He justified this decision by the fact that Berlin has delayed payments to NATO. On Wednesday evening in his Twitter head of the White house also expressed surprise why the US needs to protect Germany from Russia when the Berlin buys from Moscow energy.
