The Ministry wants to finalize the changes to the rules of medical examination of drivers

The departments on changes to the rules of medical examination for drivers close on key issues, work on the new procedure for obtaining medical references is planned to be completed this year, reported RIA Novosti Deputy Minister of health of Russia Oleg Salagay.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of health prepared a project of changes in rules of medical examination for drivers. According to the document, to be tested for the diagnosis of alcohol use for the driver when getting a certificate will need only if the psychiatrist identifies symptoms of the disease. The old order of information is maintained until 2021.

"The departments are close on key issues. I think that in the near future we will be able to discuss this question at the level of individual legal act", - said Salagay.

He noted that the order needs to be balanced - on the one hand, he should be able to identify the case of chronic alcohol consumption on the other hand, for the regions must be available the maximum possible range of modern techniques.

The Ministry of health of the Russian Federation planned on 22 November 2019 to amend the procedure for compulsory medical examination of drivers and candidates for drivers, increasing the scope of the study. The changes caused a stir among motorists in the regions, the estimated increase in the cost of passing the driving examination has led to huge queues in narcological and psychoneurological clinics. Later it became known that the Ministry of health "concerns of citizens" decided to postpone the entry into force of the new order of medical examination for drivers and will conduct additional analysis testing methods.
