DPRK authorities recommended that the staff of diplomatic missions in the country to adhere to anticorrosiveness measures "in connection with the threat of an outbreak in the city of Kaesong deadly and destructive disasters" after reports first case of suspected infection by the coronavirus in the country, said the Russian Embassy in Pyongyang.
Earlier it was reported that DPRK leader Kim Jong-UN decided to close Kaesong, and to isolate areas from each other as a preventive measure after reports first case of suspected infection with a new type of coronavirus in the country. On Tuesday the Central cable Agency of Korea (KCNA) reported that the DPRK has strengthened anti-epidemic measures and shut down Kaesong on the border with South Korea.
According to the Embassy, 28 July the Embassy received a note to the Protocol Department of the DPRK foreign Ministry, which stated that "due to the threat of an outbreak in the city of Kaesong deadly and devastating disasters, and in accordance with the transition from the state extraordinary anti-epidemic system to the emergency system of the highest category" Department again notified the Pyongyang diplomatic corps "on the procedure of action that should be adhered to members of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to the DPRK".
