In Greece the wearing of masks with the environment will become mandatory in enclosed spaces where a lot of people, the penalty for violators will be 150 euros, said Deputy Minister of civil defense of Greece Nikos Kardulias responsible for the coordination of anti-crisis, at a briefing on Tuesday.

Today in Greece recorded 4227 cases of infection with coronavirus infection COVID-19.

"Our goal is to make sure that Greece remains a safe country for residents and visitors," said Kardulias, announcing the mandatory use of masks in enclosed spaces after the growth of cases identified in the last days.

A few days ago, Greek authorities made it obligatory wearing of masks buyers in supermarkets.

The government on the proposal of the experts from 29 July decided to mandate the use of masks in the retail stores and various services of state institutions, in banks, in hospitals, doctors ' offices and diagnostic centers, grocery stores (bakeries, butchers and so on), in hairdressing and beauty salons, public transport and taxis, said the Deputy Minister.

The mask will also be required when using a lift on ships and in aircraft.

"The fine for violators will be 150 euros," he said.

"The increasing number of infected should not cause any panic nor complacency", he said, noting that the situation is "fully managed".

As he explained, the prevalence of COVID-19 is currently "relatively small - 0,4", but "the virus is still here," and we must stop its spread, observing hygienic measures and avoiding the crowds.
