The French astronaut will become the first European aboard the Crew Dragon

French astronaut Thomas Sands next year will go into space on the spacecraft Crew Dragon.

"The end of uncertainty: next year I will fly to (the space ship) Crew Dragon (company) SpaceX. Exercise in his futuristic cockpit has already begun," wrote Sand in his Twitter.

He later added that, "it seems, will be the first European who will fly the dragon (Dragon) in space."

Previously the Sand had been in space in 2016-2017 as part of the expedition ISS-50/51. To the International space station astronaut traveled on the Russian spacecraft "Soyuz MS-03".

Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) is an American manufacturer of space technology. Founded in 2002 by Elon Musk with the aim to reduce the cost of space flight and to open the way to the colonization of Mars. Developed by the spacecraft Crew Dragon became the first private manned spacecraft.
