Bulgaria has called the possible cause of the accident on the pipeline
Wear material, the most probable cause of the accident at Bulgarian gas pipeline, which occurred on Monday, said the Executive Director of the company "Bulgartransgaz" Vladimir crimson.
On Monday morning the accident occurred near the small village of Kulata in southwest Bulgaria, as previously reported, the company "Bulgartransgaz". As a result of incident nobody has suffered. It was damaged approximately 200 metres of the pipeline, repairs are carried out. Greece through Bulgaria receives Russian gas from gas pipeline "Turkish stream".
"We believe that the most likely cause (of the accident - ed.) is the aging of the material. Since the pipeline was built in the period 1990-1991, which means he is about 30 years. According to our maintenance program this section of the repair was not planned...according to the technical requirements, every 10 years it is necessary to conduct technical inspection. It was held in this area in 2014," said crimson Bulgarian TV channel BTV.
Raspberry added that currently several possible causes of the accident. According to him, the company plans as soon as possible to resume gas supplies to Greece.
