Poroshenko boasts a case against him about receiving the Tomos of autocephaly

The former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he was proud excited against him the matter in connection with the receipt of the Tomos of autocephaly of the so-called Orthodox Church in Ukraine (PCU).

"Dozens of politically motivated cases filed against me by the order (of the President of Ukraine – ed.) Zelensky, there is one that I am particularly proud of. This is a case of Tomos, which granted independence to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine... In key positions in the office of the President now are people who openly lobbied for the interests of the Russian Church in Ukraine", - Poroshenko said in a video message published on his page in Facebook on Tuesday on the occasion of the baptism of Rus.

According to him, the government blocked the law, which requires to rename the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In addition, the authorities ignore the law, which gave the communities the right of free transfer to the PCU, said Poroshenko.

He added that after the Baptism took more than a thousand years to get their own independent Church. "I congratulate every Ukrainian in Ukraine and abroad on the Day of Baptism of Rus-Ukraine and wish a strong faith in the victory of our country and prosperity of the Ukrainian people", - added ex-the President.

Before Poroshenko declared that against it criminal case in connection with the receipt by Ukraine of the Tomos of autocephaly "for inciting sectarian strife by getting Thomas and create a (non-canonical - ed.), the Orthodox churches of Ukraine" (ptsu). Later, the state Bureau of investigation confirmed the existence of the case against Poroshenko is due to receive the Tomos.

At the end of 2018 at the initiative of the Ukrainian authorities and the Patriarchate of Constantinople was created by the so-called Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU), formed by the merger of two schismatic structures. Having received from the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew the Tomos "autocephaly", in fact she was almost completely dependent on him. After that the ROC ceased to Eucharistic communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople. In 2019, Ukrainian dissenters acknowledged the Greek and Alexandrian Orthodox Church. ROC said about Eucharistic communion with the hierarchs of the Greek and Alexandrian churches, which recognize the PCU and will do with dissenters.
