Pushkov praised the words of the head of the German foreign Ministry about Russia's participation in the G7

Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on the words of the foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas, who spoke against the return of Russia to the G7 because of the unresolved Ukrainian question.

According to Pushkov, the statement of the Meuse is assessed not as a response to Moscow, and as a response to US President Donald Trump. The Senator noted that this topic is the subject of "internal discussions the Western allies", as Russia in the G7 aims.

"G7 more to lose from the absence of Russia than Russia from participation in the G7. Trump understands that. In Berlin, probably not", - wrote Pushkov in Twitter.

Previously, Maas stated that further expansion of the format of the "Big seven" and the inclusion in the group, Russia is unlikely to be possible. According to him, not yet resolved the issue of Crimea and Ukraine, the chances of the inclusion of Russia in the format he sees.

The possible resumption of the format "Big eight" said in August the Donald trump. Then he said that he intended to invite Putin to G7 summit, which in 2020 will be held in the United States.

Putin, for his part, said that Moscow is ready to dialogue and does not preclude the reinstatement of the format "Big eight", but it is not an end in itself.
