Assange lawyers testify in the case of wiretapping the Embassy

The legal team of Julian Assange, including the coordinator of his defense, the former judge Baltasar Garzon, gives Monday's testimony in the National court of Spain in connection with the case of alleged wiretapping in the Ecuador Embassy in London WikiLeaks founder, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

Testimony in National court in this case should give former Consul of Ecuador in London, Fidel narváez, the lawyer and the bride Assange, the mother of his two children of Stella Morris and lawyers Gareth Peirce (Gareth Peirce) and Jennifer Robinson, told RIA Novosti a source close to Garson.

Spain's national court is currently investigating the possibility of wiretapping Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he stayed from 2012 until his arrest in 2019. According to the version of the trial, employees of the company Undercover Global (Global UC), which is engaged in the protection of the Ecuadorian Embassy from 2015 to 2018, gathered information about Assange, his lawyers, helpers and visitors and conveyed this information to American and Ecuadorian intelligence services. CEO David Morales is the main accused in the case opened in Spain. He was charged with crimes against inviolability of private life, violation of the secrecy of attorney-client, money laundering, bribery.

He is free under restrictive measures pending consideration of the merits. As suggested by Garson, head of the UC Global has collaborated with Las Vegas Sands, Empire casino, owned by Sheldon Adelson, one of the sponsors of the presidential campaign of Donald trump.

Morales at the hearing in the Spanish court in early February, stated that it was not passed on to US intelligence any records.

In connection with this case in April, the Spanish newspaper Pais reported that David Morales has ordered even to steal a diaper and pacifier baby Morris to conduct DNA analysis.

Judge of the National court, Jose de La Mata had previously sent a letter rogatory to the United States to obtain testimony Lahava Zohar (Zohar Lahav, the head of the security service Las Vegas Sands), who allegedly received information from UC GLOBAL, and Dana Rohrabacher, a former Congressman who came to the Embassy to offer Assange to speak with President Donald trump pardon, if the WikiLeaks founder will tell who sent him e-mails to the DNC (National Committee of the US Democratic party).

Assange is accused in Sweden in 2010, sexual harassment and rape, in hiding since June 2012 in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, fearing extradition to the Scandinavian country. 11 APR 2019 he was detained at the request of the United States. A court in London found him guilty of violating the terms of bail and was sentenced to 11 months in prison. Hearings on the issue of extradition began on may 2 last year. Shortly thereafter, the U.S. government has announced that it has filed new charges against Assange for 17 counts of violations of the espionage act and the disclosure of classified information. In the case of extradition to U.S. Assange faces a prison sentence of up to 175 years.

The main hearing on the issue of his extradition to the U.S. will resume September 7th.
