The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said the successful return of his country to the foreign capital market, where the Finance Ministry has already managed to attract two billion dollars, this was discussed during his telephone conversation with acting President of the European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) Jurgen Rigterink and Vice-President of the EBRD Alan Pius, said on Friday the press service of the office of the President.

"President Vladimir Zelensky held a telephone conversation with acting President of the European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) Jurgen Rigterink and Vice-President of the EBRD Alan Pius. The President said that Ukraine is successfully returned to international capital markets, the Ministry of Finance has attracted two billion dollars, which demonstrates investor confidence in our country", - stated in the message on the website of the office of the President.

In the President's office noted that during the conversation Rigterink welcomed important reforms in Ukraine, noting in particular the fight against corruption, adoption of laws on concessions, the land market, privatization, the adoption of the banking law and the appointment of a new head of the National Bank. Zelensky for its part noted that with change of the head of the national Bank, who was recently appointed Kirill Shevchenko, the NBU policy will remain the same effective.

"I want to assure you that the NBU will remain in the future independent institution and will pursue a balanced monetary policy", - quotes the words Zelensky website of the office of the President.

Also, the Ukrainian President thanked the Bank management for its support and noted that this year, the EBRD has invested in Ukraine more than 300 million euros.

"Vladimir Zelensky said that last year the Bank's portfolio in Ukraine amounted to 1.1 billion euros. The head of state expressed hope for an even more dynamic cooperation in the current year", - stated in the message.

Separately, the President noted that the Ukrainian government is working on meeting the conditions for the second tranche of the IMF loan and the EU. According to him, despite the pandemic coronavirus, the overcoming of which has become a significant challenge for the country, the Ukrainian government and further introduces changes to quickly return to economic growth.
