Zakharova said US measures against Huawei
USA non-market methods of trying to oust from the market of high technologies of competitors, including the Chinese company Huawei, deliberately resorting to prohibited methods, said the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
Earlier, the US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that the U.S. imposed visa restrictions for the employees of Chinese tech companies including Huawei, for involvement in "human rights violations".
"We drew attention to a statement by U.S. Secretary of state Mr. Pompeo from 15 July to ban entry to us territory senior officials of all the famous IT giant Huawei, as well as a number of the company's counterparties. If all of this, all of these materials, data to compare with the concern of the American side against the action of the same China in cybercrime, for example, a decade ago, no one would have believed," said Zakharov on the briefing.
"They are accused of absolutely ridiculous things, I mean Chinese companies that have nothing to do with commercial activities, for example, actions to implement censorship, persecution of dissidents, the establishment of total control over citizens, the illegal collection of their personal data and so on. The impression that Washington is trying to involve non-market, extraterritorial methods of ousting a strong competitor in the high-tech sector and for this purpose resorts to the notoriously banned methods", - she added.
The US accuses Huawei, in cooperation with the military and intelligence service of the PRC and possible surveillance of customers and convince several countries to use infrastructure and equipment of Huawei, the transition to the standard of mobile communication 5G. The Chinese company claims that the accusations are unfounded, politically motivated and violate the principles of market competition.
