The economist praised the new composition of the Parliament of Syria

The new composition of the National Council of Syria says about the departure from the traditional conservative power relations to political processes and the capture rate to stabilize the economy through the development of agriculture and production, said Lebanese Professor in Economics and management Ahmad Zane.

In Syria July 19, parliamentary elections were held, which resulted in the new composition of the National Council includes 184 members of the bloc "National unity" headed by the ruling Arab Baath socialist Party - the Baath. Independent candidates received 66 seats.

"If you give a primary analysis of the new Parliament, the composition is good, there is a departure from the traditional appointment of the candidates. Yes, the Baath party has an absolute majority, but she ruled for more than three decades, and it would be strange if the picture was different. But the choice of the personalities in the new structure suggests openness and acclimatization of power with the current situation," said Zane.

According to experts, the economic situation in Syria, as in Iraq and Lebanon, currently plays the most important role, therefore, priority is given to individuals who can play positive role in the development of the economy. This is especially true on the background of the aggressive us policy in the middle East and the US law on sanctions against Syria "Caesar", affecting virtually all sectors of the economy.

"In Syria, of course, the economy is tied to the law of "Caesar". This law will of course affect the Syrian economy, but its impact will not be catastrophic. He will put pressure on Syria, but will not be able to break her down," said Zane.

The Lebanese expert said that Syria's major agricultural power, many times more than that of Lebanon. Damascus goes to the production system, and in the near future it is expected a strong development of agriculture.

"Of course, the Baath party will continue to play a role in the appointment of key persons. But it is clear that her vector aimed at nominating strong candidates, including Ministerial positions. They are interested in that the Minister was able to structure his Department and to make a more tangible result. Even if these appointments are political color, they are technocrats. Therefore, Syria will seek to develop agriculture first and industry is relatively less," added Zane.

The coordinator of the State Duma for relations with the Syrian Parliament Dmitry Sablin earlier, in an interview with RIA Novosti called an important innovation in parliamentary elections in Syria, democratization of the process of the election of candidates from the ruling Arab socialist Baath Party. This year, they were elected by conferences of regional branches, not the decision of the Central leadership of the party.
