Moskalkova will address the UN after the attack on journalists in the US
The Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova has told RIA Novosti that he plans to appeal to the UN high Commissioner for human rights for the police attack on Russian journalists in Portland.
Previously RIA Novosti reported that Russian journalists were attacked by American police while covering protests in Portland. They filmed a report about the riots, which was besieged by the local court. The building housed the Federal law enforcement forces entered the city, despite the dissatisfaction of the local authorities. Both attacked the journalist was with the badges with the inscription "Press".
"I know about the attack from the media - a completely outrageous situation. I am preparing an appeal to the UN high Commissioner for human rights. Need to Express their position and their indignation regarding the fact that it is totally unacceptable person or group of people performing their professional duty, especially in such a difficult sphere as freedom of speech, to apply the measures of violence and counteraction," - said Moskalkova.
This is not the first case when the American police actions affect journalists. Similarly, the police cost with a nearby group of American channel VICE.
