. In Greece, two sailors from Russia was sentenced to 253 years in prison for transporting illegal migrants and human trafficking. About it RBC have informed the Vice-President of the Russian branch of the International Committee for the protection of human rights Ivan Melnikov.

According to him, for every illegal immigrant they have received from seven to 12 years in prison. Punishment added time for other crimes.

The Russians did not admit his guilt, said Melnikov.

As reported in the Russian Embassy, sailors of the Konstantin Semenov and Ivan Voznikoveniia detained in Greece last summer, accusing the organization of illegal migration. The sentence they were waiting at the Athens prison "Korydallos". Consulate staff regularly visited the Russians.

The official reports of the sentencing from the Greek authorities in the Russian diplomatic mission did not arrive.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Greece reported that Greek jails 26 Russians accused or convicted of illegal transportation of migrants by sea from Turkey. Diplomats urged the sailors to be careful when looking for work abroad, not to be involved in unlawful activities.
