DOOM Russia: shortage of imams continues in the Russian regions

In Russian regions there is still a "huge shortage" of imams, reported the press service of the Spiritual administration of Muslims (DUM) of the Russian Federation with reference to the first Deputy head of DOOM, the rector of Moscow Islamic Institute (MIA) Damir Muhetdinov.

"The first Deputy mufti stressed that in the regions remains a huge shortage of imams and to revitalize community life, for the organization of educational system and social work are required young, well-educated, strong-willed and ready to selflessly serving imams", - is spoken in the message published on the website of the DUMAS of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that previously, "for technical reasons, not depended on Moscow Islamic Institute," was suspended the license of the University, but now MIA "continues to carry the mission to prepare clergy and theologians for the Russian Ummah."

"Doing business truth be piety and patience. There is no other way and recipes. The Imam should raise his voice for Islam and to defend Muslims and to tell the truth, whatever it was," Mukhetdinov appealed to the alumni MIA.
