The expert estimated the possible reduction of military spending in Russia
The possible reduction in state program of armaments (GPV 2018-2027) threatens to postpone the development of prospective weapons, but not a complete rejection of them, said Tuesday RIA Novosti member of the expert Council under the Russian Military-industrial Commission of the Russian Federation Victor murakhovski.
According to the letter of the Ministry of Finance, Federal spending on SAP in the years 2021-2023 proposed to reduce by 5%. The issue was discussed on 7 July at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail mishustina, but the final decision is still pending.
"While it is only a proposal, and no specific solutions. I believe that if it is accepted, it will be used primarily to sequester the prospective projects. Usually in such cases, these developments stretched out over a longer period, thus the complete rejection of the "weapons of the future" out of question", - said murakhovski.
A budget maneuver, according to the expert, may also affect the volume serial of the procurement of military equipment.
The interlocutor of the Agency stressed that in the current "difficult economic situation" reductions may apply not only LG, but also "many other articles of the budget".
While murakhovski believes that the task to bring the share of modern armaments in the armed forces to 70% by the end of 2020 "is not removed and will be fulfilled."
