Ministry of defense: a sudden check of troops is not directed against other countries
Ongoing in Russia the sudden check of combat readiness of troops is not directed against other countries, said Deputy defense Minister Colonel-General Alexander Fomin.
"All the tasks of carrying out sudden checks are performed according to the approved plan. The results of the actions of connections and parts will be analyzed. Once again that sudden check combat readiness of the troops is the exercise training and not directed against other countries. Any relationship between conducted in the course of inspection activities and escalation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is missing", - Fomin said at a briefing.
New unannounced inspections started in the Armed forces of Russia on July 17 by the Supreme commander in chief Vladimir Putin. Involved troops of the southern military district, parts of military control bodies and troops of the Western military district, the compounds of the airborne troops and Marines of the Navy.
Attracted about 150 thousand troops, nearly 400 aircraft, more than 26 thousand units of armament, military and special equipment, more than 100 ships and support vessels. Completed a snap inspection on July 21.
