The area of forest fires in Ugra close to 30 thousand hectares

Forest fires in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district to 14 thousand hectares, the total area of natural fires in the region is close to 30 thousand hectares, according to the website of the government of Yugra.

"According to the Department of subsoil use and natural resources of Ugra for the last day in the Ugra registered 18 fires area of 4 thousand hectares. there Are 19 forest fires... with an area of 14.2 thousand hectares, including seven localized", - stated in the message.

It is noted that in 90% of cases the main reasons for the occurrence of natural fires in the forests of the region are lightning discharges, in the other - a violation of local residents, tourists of safety rules.

"Since the beginning of the fire season in our region was 248 forest fires with a total area of 29,8 thousand ha. For comparison, in 2019 on this date in the forests of the region have been 115 fires area of 2.1 thousand hectares", - underlined in the message.

KHMAO Governor Natalya Komarova previously introduced the state of emergency regional character in the woods of the Autonomous Okrug. On Thursday last week to assess the situation in the region there arrived the Minister of emergency situations Evgeny Senichev and the head of the Ministry Dmitry Kobylkin. Senichev, in particular, called for harder to treat violators of the fire safety requirements. In turn, Kobylkin noted that the situation in Yugra "difficult but manageable".

Later Komarov, the TV channel "Russia 24" said that the involvement of forces and means from the Federal centre or from other regions of the Russian Federation for fighting forest fires in Ugra is not required.
