The military counterintelligence service of Germany (MAD) is conducting an investigation against four soldiers of the Bundeswehr, who are suspected of membership in the Turkish far-right organization "Grey wolves", said the TV channel ARD, citing a response to the request of the faction of the Left party in the Bundestag.
According to the reply of the German government, in one case we are talking about the violation of the Constitution, the other three - on the alleged "extremist aspirations".
In addition, the government stated about the possible links of members of the "Grey wolves" in Germany, with the Turkish intelligence service (MIT), and also about meetings of members of the organization with the Turkish officials. The German government believe that "the possibility exists that such contacts of the Turkish national intelligence organization can use to promote the interests of intelligence."
The representative of the faction of the Left party in the Bundestag Ulla Jelpke said that such Turkish groups as the "Grey wolves", comes "big threat".
The Federal service for the protection of the German Constitution (BfV) considers a specified group of Turkish among foreign right-wing extremist organizations. The German government estimates its population of 11 thousand people, but experts believe that the members of the organization much more.
