In Moscow has prepared more than a ton of plasma for treatment COVID-19

In Moscow from the beginning of April for the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection was harvested more than a ton of plasma with antibodies, donors have become more ill with 1750 inhabitants, told reporters the Deputy mayor of Moscow on issues of social development Anastasia Rakova.

She noted that preliminary results of the study showed that after transfusion of donor plasma a chance to be on a ventilator in intensive care is reduced by 63% in moderate patients, and the probability of recovery of critically ill patients who receive plasma, increases by 19%.

He recalled that the donor may be people aged from 18 to 55 years, recover from coronavirus infection and not having chronic diseases. Also it should be negative tests for HIV, hepatitis b and hepatitis C.

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin has established plasma donors with antibodies COVID-19 incentive payments in the amount of 5 thousand rubles for 600 ml of plasma.
