The U.S. Senate Committee demanded information from Twitter about the hacking of accounts

The Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on trade Roger Wicker have asked Twitter for information about the incident on Wednesday, which was a hacked account of some eminent persons.

"This incident, which shows how the need to protect users from fraud, and broader concerns about social manipulation and misinformation on the Internet is extremely concerned with the Committee," reads the letter head of the company Jack Dorsey which was published by Wicker.

"It is impossible to overestimate the difficulty of this incident - as its consequences, and the apparent failure of internal mechanisms for Twitter to prevent it," added the Senator.

Among the victims of the burglary were former Vice-President of the USA Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk, billionaires bill gates, Michael Bloomberg and Warren Buffett, the head of Amazon Jeff Bezos, rapper Kanye West, Apple, Uber and others. The authors in the hacked accounts, promised to return sent to them within 30 minutes bitcoins in doubling the size.
