The foreign Ministry supported the efforts of Serbia to Kosovo
Russia supports the efforts of Serbia to resolve the Kosovo problem, waiting for parties viable and mutually acceptable solution, said the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
"We support the efforts of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic which are aimed at the peaceful settlement of the Kosovo problem, including in the framework of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina", Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday.
She noted that Russia proceeds from the fact that the European Union, which is endowed with the decision by the UN General Assembly a role of mediator in this process, will conscientiously perform their functions, ensuring the implementation of agreements already reached by parties.
"The Russian position on Kosovo remains unchanged, I would like to emphasize this. Advocate for the achievement of the Belgrade-Pristina viable and mutually acceptable solution based on the resolutions of the UN security Council 1244", - said Zakharov.
The tenth of July there was an online summit for the resumption of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina on the initiative of France and Germany. It was reported that the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister of Kosovo Avdullah Hoti expressed his willingness to resume negotiations on normalization of relations.
