The idea of the sovereignty of the Ukraine brought her to the status of "litter of America"

Thursday, July 16, Ukraine celebrated the anniversary of its founding document — the 30th anniversary of the Declaration on state sovereignty. Celebrated, even collecting for this special session of the Verkhovna Rada with the participation of dozens of MPs who voted for this historic act back in 1990.

Recall: Ukraine was not the first Republic of the Soviet Union, took part in the "parade of sovereignties". The pioneers made the Baltic and Caucasian republics in 1988-1989. But after Kiev they would not have moved in this direction, if not Russia. A shock to the supporters of the preservation of the USSR was the adoption of the First Congress of people's deputies of the RSFSR under the leadership of Boris Yeltsin, a similar Russian Declaration of June 12, 1990. After this it would be strange if some other country, not even wishing the collapse of the United States would remain aloof from the General process.

Following in the footsteps of "big brother", Ukraine reiterated in their Declaration the thesis of the primacy of local laws over Federal and went even further, stating claims for a share of the country's total property and the right of Ukrainian citizens to serve in the army on the territory of the USSR. One of the basic principles of this document was the Declaration of national and linguistic human rights. Stated that Ukraine guarantees all nationalities "the right to unfettered ethnic cultural development."

In addition, announced a very important point, which is then not remembered during a heated debate on national security: "the Ukrainian SSR solemnly declares its intention to become in future a permanently neutral state that does not participate in military blocs and adheres to three non-nuclear principles: not to accept, not to produce and not to acquire nuclear weapons."

What turned the promises to protect the national-cultural identity of the peoples living on the territory of Ukraine, all know. Language rights of Russian-speaking population, the majority at the time of independence of Ukraine in August 1991, immediately started to be violated. Massively closed Russian schools, banned Russian language in universities, and then squeezed out of official circulation, advertising, and public spheres of life, severely limited in the media. And the current session of the Verkhovna Rada, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Declaration, is marked by discussion of the scandalous law on education, recently signed by Vladimir Zelensky and banning the Russian school. For the first time since the inception of the project "Ukraine" Russian children in September, even theoretically, will lose the right to study in their native language. Some members of the ruling party "servant of the people" we tried to delay the operation until at least another few years, but judging by the reaction of many of their party colleagues, these attempts are doomed to failure.

As for the non-aligned status, Kyiv in the 90-ies have attempted to move closer to NATO. In 2008, the then leaders of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, Yulia Tymoshenko and Arseniy Yatseniuk signed a joint letter on the provision of the action Plan for NATO membership (map). And he did it in secret from the people about the existence of this letter, the Ukrainian media learned from us Senator Richard Lugar. Then it repeated the President Petro Poroshenko, who eventually in 2019, pushed through amendments to the Constitution, securing the Euro-Atlantic course of the state. Thus, the Declaration of sovereignty was completely trampled.

Many Ukrainian experts to support the policy of joining NATO, which was justified outrage over the document that he supposedly "optional", "obsolete". But we must not forget that the Declaration was legal for an independent Ukraine. And on 1 December 1991, it was approved by referendum. Because in short the Declaration of independence, which gave to the popular vote, was a direct reference to the Declaration of sovereignty in 1990. A somehow forgotten that the polling stations hung two of these documents — the act and the Declaration. Thus, both of them approved by the people and review them too exclusively through a referendum. Which, of course, did not.

In fact, reversing a Declaration of its sovereignty, Ukraine as a state has deprived itself of the historical and legal Foundation. Now references to this document have no meaning. But there we are talking about the territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, and all of the statehood of the Ukrainian people. All these efforts of several generations of local politicians turned into zilch, nothing. Because, probably, and recently released recordings of conversations of Petro Poroshenko and Joe Biden did not cause a very rapid resonance, although this is visual confirmation of complete surrender of the sovereignty and statehood of overseas "partners". If the President of Ukraine personally asked the Vice President of the United States to approve the nomination of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General and even "looking" for him from among American citizens, then what kind of sovereignty can be discussed!

No Declaration, no sovereignty, no independence. What is the basis of Ukrainian statehood after the failure of Kiev from basic principles? Just an idea that was expressed in his time Volodymyr Yavorivsky, one of the politicians who took 30 years ago that document. He said: "We have 350 years was a litter of Russia and no day — of America. And it is worth would be to try". Then he called it a "bitter joke". However, the events of recent years and the above mentioned "film of Biden" show that Ukraine has long been against such jokes moved to direct implementation of this idea. Completely rejecting the sovereignty, proclaimed thirty years ago.
