Slutsky commented on the sanctions against the "Nord stream — 2"

The US is not going to respect someone else's decisions and interests, and sooner or later such a policy is "hurt" by Washington, said the head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky.

Earlier, the US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that the state Department published recommendations in the framework of the law on counteraction to Russia through sanctions, including the document "Nord stream 2" and second thread "Turkish stream."

"The US is not going to respect neither the decision nor the interests of anyone except their own. And sooner or later, such a policy will hurt a boomerang on Washington," said Slutsky reporters.

He noted that earlier the Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Economics and energy Klaus Ernst sent a letter to the speaker of the house of representatives, Nancy Pelosi, the heads of several committees of Congress and the proponents of the bill to expand sanctions against "Northern stream 2" to desist from actions which may impede the construction and operation of the pipeline. Slutsky stressed that the statement of Pompeo is "kind of response" and the German side.

"Additional sanctions against the "Nord stream-2" and "Turkish stream" is a manifestation of brazen and blatant unfair competition from the United States. Washington is still trying to impose with the "sanctions cudgel" only its economic dictatorship, in spite even of causing direct damage to their partners and NATO allies," - said Slutsky.

Earlier official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on the spread of American sanctions on the "Nord stream 2" and "Turkish stream", also called this use of political pressure for unscrupulous competition.
