In Turkey, announced the resumption of air links with Russia

Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a telephone conversation on July 13 raised the issue of restoration of flights between the countries, reported RIA Novosti press-Secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

According to the representative of the Kremlin, the heads of state instructed the relevant departments to start negotiations on this issue.

Today, the Anadolu news Agency, citing the Turkish Ministry of transport and infrastructure announced that Moscow and Ankara are planning to start flights from July 15. A RIA Novosti source in the Turkish Ministry confirmed this information, but noted that the exact date of the resumption of flights is not yet known.

However, Turkish Airlines said there are no flights between the two countries today is not planned. And on Monday, the carrier reported that from August 1 the company will make 14 flights a week to Moscow, 2 August: five flights a week to St. Petersburg, from August 3 – three flight to Kazan, and four flights to Rostov, from August 5 – three flight to Krasnodar and Sochi.

The head of the Association of tour operators of Turkey Firuz of Ballikaya called the message about the resumption of flights of the long-awaited decision.

"Russia is where we comes to most guests, is of strategic importance for the industry and is the driving force for the development of tourism on the Mediterranean and Aegean seas," he told RIA Novosti.

According to the interlocutor of the Agency, local tour operators are ready to "do everything so that Russian travelers were returning from Turkey with great memories".

The pandemic coronavirus Russia from March 27 stopped regular and Charter flights with other countries. The only exceptions are flights that Russians are trafficked from abroad (and foreigners — from Russia), as well as cargo, postal, sanitation and other flights.

Russian officials have repeatedly stressed that the opening of borders and will depend on the epidemiological situation.

In the operational headquarters for the fight against the spread of coronavirus reported that flights between Russia and other countries will begin to recover in two stages. The authorities will take decisions taking into account the epidemiological situation abroad.

Last week, Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova noted that the resumption of flights to foreign countries, the incidence of coronavirus there should be about 40 per 100 thousand population.
