The Hermitage and the Russian Museum re-opened to visitors, while art lovers will have to comply with sanitary norms: they are introduced sessions and special routes, the use of protective masks necessary.

On Wednesday resumes the Main Museum complex of the State Hermitage and the General staff. Other exhibition complexes will be opened roughly from 1 August.

"The Hermitage has developed several trails that provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the basic expositions of the Museum and masterpieces of the collection, but lead to different emphasis in the inspection", - said the Museum.

While the visitors will be offered three sightseeing routes: two on the main Museum complex and one at the Main headquarters. Those who wish to make a "classic" visit to Hermitage to see the state rooms and masterpieces of Western European art – can choose route # 1 (the entrance side of the Jordan staircase). For those more interested in Winter Palace as a residence of Russian emperors, it is recommended that route 2 (the entrance side of the Church stairs). Both routes include a visit to the exhibitions of Western art in Old and New Hermitage, as well as the halls of art of the Ancient world and Ancient Egypt.

In the General staff building, visitors will see one of the world's best collections of paintings of the Impressionists and post-Impressionists: the famous gallery to the memory of Sergei Shchukin and the Morozov brothers, where works by Matisse, Picasso, Denis and many others.
