Qatar welcomed the decision of the International court of justice in the case of avalokite

Qatar welcomed on Tuesday handed down the verdict of the International court of justice, which rejected the appeal which established a blockade of Qatar's neighbouring countries on the incompetence of the claims of the Doha ban on flights through their airspace by the International civil aviation organization (ICAO) told RIA Novosti in the press office of the government of Qatar.

2017 neighboring Arab countries Qatar and Egypt was banned in the Emirate of aircraft flying through their airspace and use their airports, in this connection, Qatar filed a complaint with the ICAO with a request to restore his right to fly in accordance with international agreements, but the countries filed a lawsuit in the international court of justice that ICAO has no jurisdiction to consider such questions.

On Tuesday, the court of justice has rejected all appeals by Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt, ruling that ICAO has sufficient powers to consider the complaint of Qatar, and the ICAO Council will resume hearings on the case.

"We welcome today's decision of the court, under which established a blockade of Qatar, the country will face a penalty for the violation of international aviation law. We are confident that ICAO will find their decisions outside the law", - said on this occasion, the Minister of transport of Qatar Jassim al-Sleiti.

In turn, as reported by RIA Novosti in the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the UAE, "the Emirates will defend to the ICAO the right to close airspace for Qatar registered aircraft."

The UAE foreign Ministry quoted the UAE Ambassador to the Netherlands Hiss al-Utaybi, which explained that the UAE "hopes to explain to the ICAO Council that the ban on flying the Qatari aircraft through the airspace of the UAE - one of a series of measures, which stem from the decision to break off relations adopted by countries, including the UAE." She expressed confidence that the ICAO Council will not review decisions related to the national security of the member States of ICAO, with the measures taken against Qatar remain in force.

Al-Otaibi stressed that the dispute with Qatar cannot be dealt with in ICAO or any other international organization because relations will improve only when Qatar will be ready to demonstrate a desire to play a constructive role in the region.

In June 2017, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt severed diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism, and has established transport blockade. In response to this, Doha has rejected charges, having declared that actions of the neighbors are against her are jealous of her economic success.
