A delegation of elders of the tribes of Libya will meet with President of Egypt

A high-ranking delegation of the tribes of Libya intends on Thursday to discuss with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the resolution of the Libyan Parliament on the Egyptian intervention in the Libyan crisis, said RIA Novosti Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of sheikhs and elders of the tribes of Libya, which supports the Libyan national army (LNA), as-Senussi al-Khaliq.

The ruling in Eastern Libya Parliament - House of representatives – in the night of Tuesday allowed the Egyptian armed forces to intervene in the Libyan conflict. The statement said that the Egyptian armed forces have the right to intervene to protect the Libyan and Egyptian national security, if they see imminent threat to the security of the two countries.

"Tomorrow a high-ranking delegation led by me and consisting of elders and sheikhs of the tribes East, West and South of Libya, headed for a meeting with Egyptian President to discuss the demands of the Libyan Parliament," - said al-Khaliq. He said that the meeting with al-Sisi will be held in Cairo on Thursday.

He noted that a delegation of 50 sheikhs of the tribes of Libya.

Egypt last week was spent at the border with Libya-site large-scale military exercises, codenamed "Commitment 2020", in which participated all kind of the Egyptian armed forces.

In late June, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that Egypt is ready to assist the Libyan tribes in the fight against foreign intervention, training and arming them. The President also said that any direct interference of Egypt in Libya now has the legitimacy under international law. According to him, the "red line" for the advance of troops is the city of Sirte, located about 900 kilometers from the border with Egypt, and the province Dzhufra.
