The expert explained the tolerance Tikhanovski to the presidential elections in Belarus

The Central election Commission of Belarus registered unemployed Svetlana Tikhanovski candidate for the post of President of the Republic, as it poses no danger to President Alexander Lukashenko in the elections, but he withdrew from the race all "neprosadochnyh" candidates, said Deputy Director of the CIS Institute Vladimir Zharikhin.

Earlier, the Central election Commission of Belarus at a meeting on Tuesday refused to ex-the head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko and former head of the HTP administration Valery Tsepkalo to register a candidate for President. However, the candidate was unemployed was Svetlana Tikhanovski. Also in the presidential race will be attended by the Chairman of the Belarusian social-democratic "Hramada" (BSDG) Sergey Cerecer, co-Chairman of public Association "Tell the truth" Andrey Dmitriev, former Deputy of lower house of Parliament Anna Konopacka and acting head of state Alexander Lukashenko.

"The authorities of Belarus have made what happened in the last election. For them, the most important thing was not to be allowed to participate in elections does not Pro-Western candidates. I don't want to call Babariko and Tsepkalo Pro-Russian, they are not Pro-Russian, but they are not Pro-Western. And Pro-Western candidates, given the mood of the majority of the population of Belarus, not dangerous for Lukashenka. Because Tikhanovski well get a cent or two somewhere in the polling stations of Minsk and Gomel," said Zharikhin RIA Novosti.

As the expert noted, during the current election race Lukashenka "nervous" because although the results of sociological research in Belarus are not published, but they are.

"And lately a certain "blackmail" of Russia in connection with oil and gas controversies, "I will go to the West", a meeting with Pompeo and the other passes to the West frightened a certain part of the voters who voted for him as a guarantor of fair relations with Russia. And this part started to look around, beginning to look at Babariko on Tsepkalo. And he had this alternative to remove Lukashenko from the election, instead of voting for anti-choice. And they removed," said Zharikhin.

"And she remained as a symbol, it is known how many such candidates get. Those people who don't like Lukashenko, but they nevertheless want to preserve relations with Russia, they will now have nowhere to go, they will have to vote for Lukashenko, he did and achieved," - said the expert.

According to Zharikhin, the authorities of the country, there is no need to remove Tikhanovski of the race, since she is "Pro-Western candidate who receives in the elections of 2-3% of the votes and that's all". "They already know, and sociology shows it to them. And they see that it is not dangerous, unlike Babariko and Tsepkalo, who can at least create a situation of the second round", - says the analyst.

As the expert stressed, Babariko and Tsepkalo will challenge the CEC decision, but the decision was made and, therefore, will be implemented. "In Belarus", - he said.

Also Zharikhin believes that Babariko and Tsepkalo will not support Tikhanovski the election. "Because if they want to keep certain prospects of his political activities in the future, support Tikhanovski is to alienate those potential voters who were already prepared to vote for them as an alternative to Lukashenko, while maintaining relations with Russia", - concluded the expert.

July 14, Belarus starts election campaign, which will end on August 8.

Previous presidential elections were held in Belarus 2015, won a victory when Lukashenko. He holds the highest office for the past 26 years.
