Schools with low scores will receive support in the framework of the project "500 "

Schools with low educational outcomes, and will provide targeted support in the framework of the project "500 ", involving work in such institutions experienced managers and students of teachers with academic success, reports the press service of the Ministry of education of the Russian Federation.

"Every student" – under such slogan the Ministry of education launches the project "500 ". Working on tasks to improve the quality of education, it is important to provide support for schools with poor educational outcomes, and working in difficult socio-economic conditions, and targeted to support students with problems in learning," according to the Department.

As explained in the press service, the name reflects the goal of achieving functional literacy in every school, that is the achievement of school level of training of pupils, corresponding to scores above 500 on a scale of PISA.

It is noted that in the first stage the project will cover about 250 schools in more than 20 regions of the country.

To help the regions in the framework of the project will form a methodology targeted support for schools on personnel and substantive issues, including the formation of new human resources.

"In the state schools should receive the leaders with great managerial experience, as well as the Methodists, and highly qualified teachers and mentors. To empower educational programs and training to work in these schools will also be attracted by the senior students of teacher training universities, having success in studies on pedagogical direction of preparation", - added in Ministry of education.

It is noted that schools themselves will have the opportunity of networking with the best schools within the region.

According to the Minister of education Sergey Kravtsov, the practice is a recognised tool to help schools around the world, particularly in countries with successful educational systems.

The complex of measures to improve the substantive and methodological competence of teachers, in addition, will allow to organise at the regional and municipal levels, "creative teaching laboratory" at the subject areas with the involvement of methodologists. It will also provide an opportunity to intensify intra-school system of professional development of teachers to implement the teaching project, research and creative activities.

Explained that the project will become part of the Federal project "Modern school" of the national project "Education". New project of "500" is designed to assist in the achievement of the global goal of joining Russia among the 10 leading countries in quality of education.

"The project will allow us to provide targeted, quality support and pick up the forms and the mechanisms in which schools really need and that will work on certain areas", - quotes the press-service of the word Kravtsov.

He said that the inclusion of "500" in the national project "Education" permit to send to these schools along with methodological and infrastructural support.

Kravtsov added that the Ministry has research teams who worked on this program and will accompany its implementation, there is an understanding of the staffing needs for these schools, there are mechanisms to connect to this program young talents.

"All this complex work on which we must build, bringing Russia among the leading countries of the world on quality of school education", - concluded the Minister.

As added in a press-service, proven methodology and developed in the framework of the project institutions, curators, and instructional services will be the basis for scaling the project in the coming year.

PISA is the largest international program for the evaluation of educational achievement (Programme for International Student Assessment), which is implemented under the auspices of the OECD. The study is conducted in cycles every three years among 15-year olds around the world: they checked for mathematical and scientific literacy and reading literacy. Financial literacy is an additional research area of PISA . In the study of financial literacy in 2018 was attended by 20 countries.
