In Mariupol build a plant for purification of water due to the loan from France
Ukraine has started the implementation of the project for the construction in the Mariupol plant for water purification for credit funds provided by France, said on Monday the Ambassador of France in Ukraine, Etienne de Poncin at a press conference.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal said that the government of Ukraine and France signed an agreement on the provision of 64 million euros for the project of modernization of water supply system in Mariupol. According to the agreement, the credit funds should fully cover the cost of the project of modernization of the system of drinking water supply in the city. About 70% of goods and services will be purchased in France, 30% - in Ukraine or from third parties.
"I'm honored to be here today at this ceremony to launch a demonstration project for bilateral cooperation... I am extremely pleased that the project, which is now in question, funded by means of the French Treasury, we are launching today," said Poncin.
According to him, in the coming weeks will begin the technical work on the implementation of the project. The Ambassador said that, according to the project, the plant for water purification in Mariupol will be constructed in 2023, with a maximum in 2024. Poncin added that France provides to Ukraine in the implementation of this project a loan of 64 million euros under 0.08% per annum for 30 years.
However, the Ambassador noted that after the implementation of this project, the government of France will continue to support similar initiatives in the Donbass.
