Ukraine is blocking the importation of scientific literature from Russia, said Medvedchuk

Ukraine does not issue itself and blocks the import from Russia of scientific literature, said Saturday the head of political Council of party "Oppositional platform For life" Viktor Medvedchuk.

"Of extreme concern is the situation with import to Ukraine of the scientific literature. According to the representatives of the publishing market, in 2020 our country is not imported any copies of books from Russia, which was and remains the main provider of specialized scientific publications for Ukrainian consumers in many key sectors of the knowledge... Thus, blocked the arrival to Ukraine of the special literature, which in our country is not being published because of the crisis of the scientific-educational sphere" - quoted Medvedchuk's press service on the website of the political power.

According to him, the experts explain the situation by the inertia and lack of coordination bureaucracy.

"The face of bigotry more clearly resembles the implementation of the Nazi plan "OST" concerning Ukraine, which included the colonization of Ukrainian, depriving them of access to education, science and culture. With the change of regime and the coming to power of the command, "servants of the people", little has changed. And if there have been changes for the worse, as evidenced by the blocking of the importation of scientific literature from Russian Federation. It is necessary to immediately release the import to Ukraine of book products, primarily scientific literature," he added.

Relations between Moscow and Kiev deteriorated on the background of the situation in the Donbass. Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly accused Russia of meddling in the internal Affairs of the country. In January 2015 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the statement in which Russia is called "an aggressor country". Russia charges Ukrainian side denies and calls unacceptable. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to domestic conflict and is interested in Kiev overcame political and economic crisis.
