The king of Jordan discussed with the head of CENTCOM situation around Palestine

Jordan's king Abdullah II discussed in Amman with the head of the U.S. Central command (CENTCOM), General Kenneth McKenzie, the situation in the middle East, including the Palestinian question, and the fight against terrorism.

"King Abdullah II received on Saturday the head of U.S. Central command General Kenneth Mackenzie. During the meeting they discussed the strategic partnership between the two countries, primarily in the field of military cooperation and security... we also Discussed the situation in the region, the Palestinian issue," - said in an official statement, the Royal Palace.

During the conversation reportedly also touched upon issues of international and regional efforts in the fight against terrorism.

Amman and Washington have a long military-technical cooperation. The Royal armed forces together with the armed forces of the United States hold exercises, the main of which is called "Lion's willingness" - held annually since 2011.

Trip McKenzie, Jordan preceded his official visit to Lebanon, during which a meeting was held with the country's leadership, including President Michel Aoun. During the visit, the commander of CENTCOM has promised that the U.S. will continue to provide military support to the Lebanese army.
