The Ministry of communications will present a methodology for digital transformation of state-owned companies

The Ministry of communications of the Russian Federation develops methodological recommendations for the digital transformation of state-owned companies, tested them in the Railways and "Mail of Russia" plans to present for use in the third quarter, told RIA Novosti press-service of the Ministry.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin said Thursday that state-owned companies must prepare a programme of digital transformation, which provides priority use of domestic software solutions. These programs will be considered by the Commission for digital development.

"The Ministry develops methodological recommendations for the digital transformation of state companies - a practical guide that will help companies effectively and in the shortest possible time to change internal processes. In the third quarter of 2020 the Ministry of communications will present for use and discussion of modified methods of digital transformation", - said the press service of the Ministry.

It noted that the methodology is based on global best practices and refined in the testing process. The first in testing new approaches was attended by Russian Railways and "Mail of Russia". "During the testing that lasted several months and ended in early July, have been tried and new approaches to development of strategies for digital transformation, portfolios of technology solutions and systems key performance indicators", - said in the Ministry of communications.

Soon will start the second and final wave of testing, members of which will be the largest Russian companies in the extractive industry, fuel and energy complex, transport. "At the end recommendations will be adjusted and refined - only in the process of testing to verify the effectiveness of the methods," the Ministry noted.

"State-owned companies must become the drivers of digital transformation of industries. And our task is to provide them maximum assistance in the implementation of digital solutions. In the preparation of methodological recommendations, we relied on the best international experience and focused on the priority use of Russian software", - said Deputy Minister Maxim Parshin, whose words gave the press service of the Ministry.

According to the Ministry of communications, more than 80% of the 100 surveyed companies are aware of the need for the rapid digital transformation, but active work in this direction is only 35%. One of the main problems they called the lack of information on the working approaches of digital transformation.
