Lavrov confirmed group meeting, US — Russia space in late July
Meeting of experts of the USA and Russia in space under the supervision of Deputy foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and the special envoy of the U.S. President for arms control Marshall Billingsley will be held at the end of July, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
"Ryabkov with Billingsley agreed as part of the process, which is under their supervision occurs to create three working groups. With 25, in my opinion, on the 30th, or from 27 to 30 July in Vienna will hold a meeting of the working group on outer space, on transparency in the nuclear weapons and military doctrines, nuclear doctrines," - said Lavrov during an online session, "Primako readings."
"Look, we never refuse a conversation," - said the Russian Minister.
Earlier, the Bureau of the state Department international security and non-proliferation said that the us-Russian working group in space in the debate on arms control will meet in late July.
Russian-American consultations on strategic stability issues took place in Vienna on 22-23 June. The Russian delegation at the negotiations was headed by Ryabkov, the American Billingsley. They discussed the issue of extending the Contract on reduction of strategic offensive arms (start-3), maintaining stability and predictability in the conditions of the termination of the INF Treaty. At the consultations, the sides confirmed the launch of the working group on space and a number of others.
