Commenting on the publication of "Medusa", which reported that the passport data of voters voted via the Internet on the amendments to the Constitution, supposedly was almost free, the communications Ministry said that the Ministry for internal use by members of election commissions have prepared an automated service through which you can check on the site, vote if the voter remotely.

"This service was used to prevent double voting and at the same time gave the opportunity to vote in the traditional way those voters who showed up, but did not use online voting," said the Ministry.

"Instructions for service were sent to the election Commission the letter with the stamp "For official use". The app was available for download via the enclosed link and was located in password-protected files. Passwords were distributed through secure channels to transfer data only to persons authorized to use the service", - assured the Ministry of communications.

"The series and passport number before download of the application has been coded and represented received a random sequence of characters (a hash), not identifying the citizen. Hashing is not personal data," the Ministry added.

"The Ministry of communications of Russia believes the dissemination of information illegal. It is necessary to conduct an internal investigation to determine the perpetrator of the violation, to eliminate the influence of the human factor in future", - stated in the Ministry of communications.

Voting on amendments to the Constitution took place in Russia from 25 till July 1, according to the results of processing 100% of protocols for the adoption of amendments voted 77,92% of Russians against – of 21.27%. The turnout, according to the information center of the CEC data, amounted to 67,97%.
