In the Astrakhan region revealed the cell "Jehovah's Witnesses"*

Investigators opened a criminal case against four residents of the Astrakhan region, which, according to law enforcement authorities, was led by the local extremist organization "Jehovah's Witnesses"*, according to SUCK Russia in the region.

"A criminal case against four local residents at the age from 38 to 47 years old, suspected of committing crimes under part 1 of article 282.2 and part 2 of article 282 of the criminal code (organization of an extremist organization)", - stated in the message.

According to investigators, the suspects are "elders" and the actual leaders of the religious organization "Jehovah's Witnesses"* in Astrakhan. From July 2017 and up to date, they have continued to organise gatherings, knowing about the banning of the organization, conducted propaganda of their religious teachings and spreading extremist literature, noted in the Department. They used measures of conspiracy.

In the framework of a criminal investigation the investigators, in conjunction with the regional FSB and interior Ministry conducted 27 searches. The suspects removed the house, including, communications, computers, literature of extremist content. Currently, suspects were arrested, three detained, their accomplice under house arrest, have noted in regional SK.
