The United States is ready to hold talks with China on nuclear weapons
US sees positive shifts in the position of China on strategic stability, said the special envoy of the U.S. President for arms control Marshall Billingsley.
"We see positive signs of evolution in China's position. We are ready to meet with China on a bilateral basis, and also to prepare the ground for holding at the time of the tripartite talks (with Russia)," said Billingsley, speaking at the event of the Institute name of the Brookings institution.
According to him, the only tripartite talks will help to prevent the strategic arms race between the three countries.
The United States insists on bringing China to the Russian-American talks on strategic renewal of the contract start-3. China said earlier that it is not interested in that.
