The state Duma will consider the draft on equating extremism to the exclusion of the territories
The state Duma may 14 July to consider in the first reading a bill equating to extremism, the alienation of Russian territory, said the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
The head of the Duma Committee on legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov, the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation Andrey Klishas introduced in the state Duma the project of equating alienation of territories of the Russian Federation to extremist activities. The project was based on the adoption of the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
As reports a press-service of the Duma, Volodin sent the draft to the state Duma Committee for security and combating corruption.
He noted that the amendments bring the law on combating extremism in compliance with the new provisions of the Constitution. According to Volodina, "the initiative is aimed at securing, protecting and strengthening our sovereignty."
