Volodin: Russia and Belarus are doing everything to protect the truth about Winning
Russia and Belarus in modern conditions, when the world is trying to rewrite history, do everything to protect the truth about the Victory of the Soviet people, said the Chairman of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin during the 58th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, which takes place in a videoconference mode.
The speaker, quoted by the press service of the chamber, said on 30 June, the presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko opened the memorial to Soviet soldiers in Rzhev. Volodin called the memorial "national" because the funds for its creation were donated by the citizens of many CIS countries.
A similar project of the Union state, according to Volodin, is being implemented in Belarus - there is a restoration of the memorial complex "Brest fortress-hero".
"Today, when the world waged war monuments, erased historical memory, our countries are doing everything to protect the truth about the Victory of the Soviet people in the great Patriotic war", - said Volodin.
He drew attention that the issue of protection of historical memory is now enshrined in the Constitution.
